Open Academy/Wigmore Hall Learning Fellowship

Miyabi Duo (Saki Kato and Hugh Millington) has become a fellowship ensemble at the Wigmore Hall Learning, in partnership with Royal Academy of Music.

 

 

 

Open Academy Fellowship

September 2020

Saki has become a fellow at the Royal Academy of Music for the Open Academy Department, which focuses on co-creative music-making within the wider community. She will be working on various workshop projects in a wide range of settings including hospitals, care homes and primary schools.

 

 

 

Highly Strung Music: Guitar Chamber Music by Edward Cowie

This concert will celebrate many of Edward Cowie's guitar chamber music which will include TWO World Premiere pieces by him. One of the world premiere pieces, Basho Meditation was written by Cowie for the Miyabi Duo in April 2019.  Another world premiere piece, California Suite will be premiered by Saki Kato and the Bell Quartet. This concert will also feature TWO World Premiere pieces by James Batty and Stephen Balfour.
